The Christmas season has always been my favorite time of the year. The days at work seem ever so shorter, strangers seem a bit more friendlier, the ubiquitous holiday tunes fill the air with visions of snow, toasty fires and fat guys on sleighs, and families and loved ones look forward to seeing each other after months apart.
Like many of you, I am spending this holiday season with close people in my life -- my wife Alex and kids Tyler and Brenna, my mother and all of our siblings and their families. It's a special time of the year when I get to catch up with everyone I haven't seen in a long time and shoot the breeze about all the highlights (and some lowlights) of the past year.
As I gather with my loved ones, I wanted to send you a little note to tell you how much you also mean to me.
Because of your generous support and friendship, I am able to continue to serve in public office for another two years, working for the people of the 35th District in the Virginia House of Delegates. You have made the year 2011 a very significant one, and I wanted to tell you how grateful I am to have you as friends.
Thank you for all you did for me, and I look forward to many more years of great memories that we will create and share together.
And if you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or any other special occasion this week, I hope that you enjoy your time with very special people in your life!
From my family to yours, happy holidays, and see you soon!
