Delegate Mark Keam - Virginia's 35th House District

Thank you for your continued support

I want to thank you for all you did to help me win my first reelection. As you may know by now, on Tuesday, November 8, Virginians in the 35th District voted to keep me as their State Delegate for another two years.

I am honored and humbled to be "rehired" for this job and to continue to represent our neighbors in the House of Delegates.

Growing up in a religious home where community service was part of our daily duties and where the idea of giving was always more valued than receiving, I have learned that there is no greater calling in life than to serve others.

Many of you already serve and give of yourself so much through your jobs, volunteering, or faith. As we commemorate Veterans Day tomorrow, I am reminded of those who choose the ultimate public service of putting their lives on the line to protect our nation.

I have the privilege to serve through elected office, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue this path for two more years.

I realize that politics and politicians often receive low approval in the public's opinion, and regular Americans are fed up with the gridlock and partisan bickering from their elected leaders.

You expect and deserve more from your government.

You want your leaders to solve your problems and not engage in hyper-partisan political games. You want your roads fixed, your schools and teachers well-funded, and the economy to bounce back so we can all enjoy better quality of life.

That is the same goal that motivated me to run for office in 2009, and that is what I will continue to do for you and for the 80,000 residents of our district in my second term.

As I prepare to return to Richmond in January, my staff and I are beginning to draft legislation to address your most pressing needs. If you have any ideas or suggestions for what the General Assembly should do in the coming session, please call (703) 350-3911 or email DelMKeam@House.Virginia.Gov.

I am blessed to have two able professional staff, Julia Kim and Rob Abbot, who will continue to work with me in our Vienna District office as well as in Richmond during this upcoming legislative session. All three of us are available to you at the drop of a phone call or email.

I look forward to working with you, and I thank you again for joining me on this incredible journey.
