Del. Keam Seeks Local Artwork to be Displayed in his Richmond Office

VIENNA, VA — Delegate Mark Keam announced today a "Capitol Art Competition" for local residents to submit original artwork, of which winning pieces will be displayed on the walls of the Delegate's legislative office in Richmond during the 2012 General Assembly session.

In its second year, the competition is open to all residents of the 35th House of Delegates district, which is comprised of portions of Oakton, Vienna, Dunn Loring, Tysons Corner and McLean.

Artist of high school age or older can submit any of the following types of art: Photography, painting/drawing, digital arts, or other measuring less than 24 inches wide by 34 inches tall.

"As I work in Richmond from January through March, one of the best ways for me to remember our district is to enjoy art pieces depicting local scenes of Vienna and Fairfax County on my walls" said Keam. "Last year, I was surrounded by seven beautiful paintings and photographs, and I look forward to decorating my office with new artwork designed by constituents."

A digital copy of all artwork must be submitted to Delegate Keam's office by Wednesday, December 14, to, and the winning selections will be announced at a reception on Monday, December 19, at the Patrick Henry Library in Vienna.

Members of the Selection Committee include Town of Vienna Mayor Jane Seeman, Town of Vienna Councilwoman Carey Sienicki, former President of the Vienna Art Society Donna Grone, founder of the Gimga Group Mihae Kim, and James Madison High School senior Catherine Bobalek.
