Delegate Keam featured in Sun Gazette Blog
Brian Trompeter and I sat down with freshman Del. Mark Keam (D-Vienna) in Richmond this week, to see how things were going.
(We in Sun Gazette-land can in some way take credit for Keam's narrow victory over Republican James Hyland, as the paper endorsed Hyland. In some parts of our coverage area, our endorsements are worth votes ... to the other candidate!)
It was a good sit-down and Keam seems to have a good, moderate head on his shoulders. He seems to have had a good session in Richmond, although the expectations are never quite high for a first-year member of the out-of-power party.
Brian also sat down with another freshman, Del. Barbara Comstock (R-McLean/Great Falls), who also won a narrow election victory after the Sun Gazette endorsed her opponent (sensing a trend yet?). He'll have coverage of that.
I was rattling around the third and seventh floors of the General Assembly building, checking in with the Arlington delegation. Always good to see democracy in action.* * * - Scott
