Delegate Mark Keam Named Citizen of the Year

VIENNA, VA — On Tue., June 12, 2012, Delegate Mark Keam (D-Fairfax) was named "Citizen of the Year" by the ViennaTysons Regional Chamber of Commerce at its 2012 Business and Service Awards reception. Held in an office space at Tysons Corner, this annual event was attended by over 100 Chamber members and community leaders.

"The ViennaTysons Regional Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to honor Delegate Keam for his tireless commitment and dedication to business and the community in the Vienna Tysons region," said Chamber President Lisa Huffman. "Mark is one of those special individuals who strives to make our community a place where you not only want to work but where you want to make a home," Huffman added.

VTRCC's Citizen of the Year award is presented to an individual who has made a noteworthy contribution to the Northern Virginia community during the past year and/or given service over a number of years or an outstanding one-time contribution. This could include demonstrating leadership resulting in enhancement of community life, bringing about positive changes and inspiring qualities as a role model.

"I really appreciate this award, but I don't think I deserve it as I'm honored enough to be your elected Delegate and to serve this great community," stated Delegate Keam in his acceptance speech, adding "The recognition should go to everyone member of the Vienna Tysons Chamber who makes this community a great place to live, work, and raise a family. You are all Citizens of the Year!"

Delegate Keam and the other 2012 award winners will be recognized at this year's annual Vienna Halloween Parade by riding on the VTRCC Float.

Founded in the 1940s, VTRCC provides a strategic link between businesses and the community through networking, special events, marketing, advocacy, education and political representation.
